Caden Dekker

Summer 2018:

Caden Dekker has had a very fun and hardworking summer. He has played golf every day, and in August, he dropped his index by 4, from a 7 to a 3 at his home course. He has played in several tournaments over the summer and has improved greatly throughout this learning curve. A few examples of tournaments Caden has participated in are the Tijeras Creek Junior Club Championship, where he fired a round of 77 (+5) to earn himself a solo third place finish out of nearly 20 competitors. He has also just recently played in the 26th Annual Inland Empire Amateur Championship, and although he had a very rough first round in tough conditions, he was able to bounce back with a decent round of 79 from the back tees at Goose Creek Golf Club. It has been a fun and grinding summer, and Caden is looking forward to what next season and summer has in store for him.

Tesoro High School:

Caden is a Sophomore at Tesoro High School. He was number two on the JV Team in his freshman year, and received a most improved player award. He is looking forward to a dominant season this year, and to win the South Coast League and as well as to advance to the C.I.F. playoffs.

Personal: Caden was born in Mission Viejo, CA, on July 6, 2003. His parents are Brandon and Leslie Dekker. He also has a sister, Morgan Dekker, who is a golfer herself. His hobbies include hiking and running. He loves History, and also likes watching Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour. His current coach is Bobby Nickel at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, and will visit him for swing tips.

Ryan Voois

2018 Season: Ryan Voois is a golfer with tremendous potential, an excellent student, and a well rounded person. He has played elite level tournament golf since he was eight years old, and loves competing against the world's best junior golfers. Ryan had a consistent year last year, with a 74.4 scoring average and four rounds in the 60's. His best round was 68 (-4). He works with coach Bob Lasken, and the pair have significantly improved the repeatability of of his swing under pressure. In 2018, Ryan had three wins in five events on the SCPGA Junior Tour, and captured a runner-up finish at the 2018 FCG Las Vegas Championship with rounds of 74-68 (-2, 142). In the AJGA JAS at Hunter Ranch, Voois fired rounds of 73-79-76-68 (+6, 296). He also played his first AJGA Open Tournament at the Enagic Junior Championship, where he shot 73-74-80 (+11, 227), and learned a lot about playing golf at the highest level.

Tesoro High School:

Ryan is starting his freshman year at Tesoro High School and loves it so far. He is very excited to be competing for his school in the South Coast League.

Personal: Ryan Voois was born in Sacramento, CA on December 12, 2003. He moved to Orange County at the age of 1. His parents are Paul Voois and Jessica Smith. Ryan has no siblings, but loves to spend time with his family. His hobbies include playing violin, swimming, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family.

 

Arthur Hess

Summer 2018:

Arthur played and practiced regularly at his home course of Mission Viejo Country Club.

Tesoro High School:

Arthur has been competing for Tesoro's varsity golf team since he was a freshman. As a freshman, he shot rounds of 77 and 80 to go through league finals and qualify for individual CIF. As a sophomore, Arthur did not have as strong of a season, but hopes to end the slump in his junior year.

Personal: Arthur was born in Laguna Hills, CA. His parents are Arthur and Claire Hess. He has one younger brother, named Ash. His hobbies include fishing and going to the beach.

Jace Kang

Summer 2018:

Jace Kang played many tournaments in the summer of 2018. Some of his highlights include placing fourth at the Green River Championship (+7, 79), a T17 finish at the Diamond Bar Toyota Tour Cup Qualifier (+6, 78), a T6 finish at the at the Fullerton Summer Championship (+7, 74), and a T9 finish at the Casta Del Sol Championship (+9, 69).

Tesoro High School:

Kang has played 2 years on the JV golf team at Tesoro. He was captain of the JV team and was named team MVP in the 2018 spring season. Jace also medaled in four matches.

Personal:

Jace Kang was born in Plano, TX. His parents are John and Sandi Kang. He has one sister, named Emma. Outside of golf, his hobbies include playing video games, basketball, and watching reruns of Conan and Friends.

Matthew Donnan

Summer 2018: Matthew attended the Aviara Golf Academy. He spent the summer playing, practicing, and working on his game with former PGA Tour Player Pat Burke.

Tesoro High School:

In Donnan's first year at Tesoro, he started on the JV team, then was moved to Varsity. Matthew participated in most home matches and a few away matches.

Personal: Matthew Donnan was born in Houston, TX. He has one brother, named David, at West Point, and another, Michael, at Oregon State. Matthew played baseball before he got into golf. In his last year, he was the starting center fielder and lead off batter until he partially tore the growth plate in his right arm at the age of 14. He started playing golf at age 15, since it did not bother his arm. Matthew likes the physical and mental challenge of playing competitive golf. His hobbies include working out, scuba diving, hiking, and everything outdoors. He has a 4.08 GPA, is studying for the ACT, and beginning to visit colleges. Matthew is interested in going into high end law enforcement after college.

Spencer Brown

Summer 2018:

Spencer had a long and eventful season of summer golf playing in sixteen events, winning two SCPGA tournaments and the Tijeras Creek Junior Club Championship with scores of 73 (+2), 60 (E), and 73 (+1). Spencer finished 11th out of 240 golfers in the 12-14 age division of the SCPGA summer points standings. Highlighting his two day events, Spencer shot 77-74 (+7, 151) in the TTC Summer Q-School. In the 2018 Costa Mesa Championsip, Spencer bounced back from an opening 79 to shoot 70 in the second round for a two day total of 149 (+9).

Tesoro High School:

In his freshman year at Tesoro High School, Spencer is looking forward to balance of a strong season of golf in the South Coast League and schoolwork.

Personal:

Spencer was born in Newport Beach, CA on August 9, 2004. His parents are Deborah and Avery Brown, and he has two older sisters, Amanda and Zoe. Spencer's hobbies include basketball, running, and playing the piano. He also enjoys mathematics, science, and is a huge Tiger Woods and Lakers fan.

Trevor Allensworth

Summer 2018:

Trevor played in a few tournaments and played many rounds at various courses. He also spent numerous hours at the driving range, chipping green, and putting green at Tijeras Creek Golf Club.

Tesoro High School:

Trevor did not play golf his freshman year of high school because he ran cross country and track. After a year of contemplating about trying out for the team, he decided to start having lessons and taking golf more seriously. He tried out for the team in December hoping just to make the JV team, and to his surprise was put on the varsity team as a sophomore. He started off the year as the number eight man on the team, but as the season progressed, he worked his way up to number six on the team. In his junior year, he hopes to be one of the top competitors for Tesoro in the South Coast League.

Personal: Trevor was born in Fullerton, CA in 2002. His parents are Sam and Cindy Allensworth. He has one younger brother named Jake. Trevor's Hobbies include hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and playing golf.
